Brave Search has introduced a new AI-powered tool called Summarizer, which provides a summarized answer to an inputted question before the rest of the search results. The Summarizer provides concise and accurate answers at the top of Brave Search results pages, solely based on web search results. Unlike a purely generative AI model, the Summarizer processes multiple sources of information present on the web, producing a more concise and coherent answer. The Summarizer generates a plain-written summary at the top of the search results page, aggregating the latest sources on the web and providing source attribution for transparency and accountability. The Summarizer is available to all Brave Search users on both desktop and mobile platforms. Summaries are shown for 17% of queries, and Brave plans to grow that number in the near future. Brave Search does not rely on third parties, nor does it limit access due to scalability concerns.
